Video: AMAZING U.S. AIR FORCE MILITARY ROBOT DOG YOU MUST SEE! United States’ Tyndall Air Force Base is integrating robot dogs from Ghost Robotics for security and surveillance of the base. The base, which is located 12 miles east of Panama City, Florida, is the home to the 325th Security Forces Squadron and is the first base to use the technology for enhanced security patrolling. Air Force will test capabilities of robots at Tyndall base, results of which can influence the decision for a wider implementation of robot dogs across other bases. Although the 100-pound robot dogs can be controlled with a remote, they will operate autonomously around the base for security and have the ability to turn themselves right side up if they are knocked over. The robot dogs can run for an extended period of time, and a single charge will support surveillance distance of 7.5 miles. The robots will have access to wireless charging doghouses to ensure easy charging. The robot dogs are capable of handling tasks such as remote inspection, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, mapping, distributed communications and persistent security. The robotic technology in combination with other technological innovations is expected to replace and upgrade the capabilities of traditional static defense equipment. According to Ghost Robotics CEO Jiren Parikh, the robot dogs can cover 7.5 feet per second, which is equivalent to covering the length of a football field in about 40 seconds. The company is aiming to enhance its performance to 10 feet per second. Ghost [More]
Humanity will change more in the next 10 years than the previous 100 years. Does your organization pride itself on its people (talent) and its culture? If you are an executive or a leader, are you investing enough in the skills and the MINDSET of your people in order to steer your company through the coming waves of exponential technological progress and disruption? All too often, scientific breakthroughs and the latest tech-hype or the constant concerns about jobs and economic growth dominate discussions about our future. Yet as the world is rapidly going digital and becoming more virtual, at the same time, I believe it actually is our humanity that needs the most attention, and that it will be our humanness that will make all the difference in a world dominated by algorithms and smart machines. Technology that will inevitably outpace us in mere processing power, logic and efficiency – and the ‘End of Routine’ is a certainty. Therefore I believe that our future is to become more human, not less; not to compete with the machines but to use their increasing competence to get commodity tasks done better and faster – As a tool but not as a purpose. Machines, computers and algorithms should have competence not consciousness. Consider these Game-Changers: Data is the new oil, artificial intelligence is the new electricity, the Cloud is the new living room, and the Internet of Things is becoming the new nervous system. Digital giants and social media platforms have replaced banks [More]
Octopus, squid and cuttlefish — collectively known as cephalopods — have strange, massive, distributed brains. What do they do with all that neural power? Dive into the ocean with marine biologist Roger Hanlon, who shares astonishing footage of the camouflaging abilities of cephalopods, which can change their skin color and texture in a flash. Learn how their smart skin, and their ability to deploy it in sophisticated ways, could be evidence of an alternative form of intelligence — and how it could lead to breakthroughs in AI, fabrics, cosmetics and beyond. The humanoid robot stands a bit over 4-feet and weighs in at 119 pounds, but its developers have packed a whole lot of functionality into its modest frame. Asimo can do sign language, play soccer, and even serve drinks. Number 9. Kuratas. If you’ve ever dreamed of being the pilot of a great big robot, this is your chance. Located within its 13-foot tall frame is enough room for an onboard commander. Oh by the way, it can be controlled with an iPhone. Number 8. Atlas. Commissioned by the Pentagon, and engineered by Boston Dynamics, this disaster rescue dynamo is built to perform the heroic task of saving lives without risking its own. Number 7. Termite Robots. These little guys are designed to do tough, tedious building work and their way of working was inspired by termites. The bots assess their environment, take cues from one another, and get to work even though they haven’t a clue of the bigger plan. Number 6. Cheetah Cub. In this video I want to highlight a few of the awesome things that we can do with Natural Language Processing or NLP. NLP basically means getting a computer to understand text and help you with analysis. Some of the major tasks that are a part of NLP include: · Automatic summarization · Coreference resolution · Discourse analysis · Machine translation · Morphological segmentation · Named entity recognition (NER) · Natural language generation · Natural language understanding · Optical character recognition (OCR) · Part-of-speech tagging · Parsing · Question answering · Relationship extraction · Sentence breaking (also known as sentence boundary disambiguation) · Sentiment analysis · Speech recognition · Speech segmentation · Topic segmentation and recognition · Word segmentation · Word sense disambiguation · Lemmatization · Native-language identification · Stemming · Text simplification · Text-to-speech · Text-proofing · Natural language search · Query expansion · Automated essay scoring · Truecasing Let’s discuss some of the cool things NLP helps us with in life 1. Spam Filters – nobody wants to receive spam emails, NLP is here to help fight span and reduce the number of spam emails you receive. No it is not yet perfect and I’m sure we still all still receive some spam emails but imagine how many you’d get without NLP! 2. Bridging Language Barriers – when you come across a phrase or even an entire website in another language, NLP is there to help you translate it into something you can understand. 3. Investment Decisions – [More]

In This Video we’ll see most amazing and coolest ROBOTS. The family of robot animals from the German developer of robotics Festo is growing. The company presents many new robots, for example: a swarm of ants that can interact with each other, as well as butterflies and dragonflies, which are characterized by all the ease and grace of these insects. When they were created, the company focused not only on their appearance, but also on behavioral characteristics. The ants coordinate with each other all their actions and movements. Each ant, that is 13-centimeter long, has on its belly a radio module, through which precise coordination is carried out. As for butterflies-robots. The weight of each butterfly is only 32 grams, this includes two servos, a pair of small batteries, and a laser-made casing. After one charging that lasts fifteen minutes, butterflies will be able to flutter for about 4 minutes. And their flight looks very impressive. There’re not just butterflies, but a whole system that consists of ten high-speed infrared cameras installed in a room where butterflies fly. They track the infrared markers installed on the robots, transmitting data in real time to the central computer; so that’s how coordination of butterflies is going in the space. You can hardly distinguish these bionic butterflies from the real ones in the room where they fly. Robotic seagulls and dragonflies that can fly just like their living relatives. The seagull was developed in 2012. Later, a dragonfly, that can hang in the [More]
