Six Months – 220 Operations. Ukrainian Unmanned System Forces At Work
The Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces carried out over 220 deep-strike operations across Russia over six months, according to Colonel Vadym Sukharevsky, Commander of the Unmanned Systems branch of the Armed Forces and Hero of Ukraine. In an interview with Radio Liberty, Sukharevsky stated that nearly 4,000 drones were launched during these operations in the second half of 2024. In one recent mission, a drone reached 57 km into Russian territory, striking a state-of-the-art “BUK-M3” air defense system, valued at up to $50 million per unit. At least 15 such high-value anti-air systems were hit by the “Nemesis” FPV unit. Sukharevsky also hinted at the development of unmanned sea operations but did not provide further details.
