THE FUTURE IS HERE

Why did the US bring back its Hypersonic program back from the dead? The ARRW Program

The United States Pentagon brought back the ARRW AGM-183A air launched hypersonic boost-glide missile back from the shelf and back to development as the Air Force plan to create America’s First Strike Capability.

The ARRW missile capable of hitting Mach 20 covering a range of 1600 KM (994 Miles) is capable of striking any target within its range in a matter of minutes after launch.

Delivering enough conventional payload and kinetic energy to destroy any target within its reach.

The ARRW missile is an air launched multi stage missile. Its main launch platform is the B-52 Stratofortress, it is also floated around in the future the B-21 Raider could be a new delivery system as well but that is still rumors until proven otherwise.

Once launched the missile enters its booster stage where is accelerates to its max speed of Mach 20 and upon met conditions the gliding vehicle separates from its booster and enter its gliding phase until it nears the attack vector where it initiate its terminal phase and descend upon the target. Of course, maneuvering around during descent to make interception extremely hard and near impossible and thus delivering the payload and destroying its objective.

The ARRW missile max speed is Mach 20 as reported by multiple sources and is floated around that its speed is Mach 17 but all sources quote Mach 20.

Mach 20 is 15,340 mph and 24,700 km/h which is an extremely fast speed that gives the most advanced interception capable system a run for their money.

A nuclear payload could be inserted into the final kill vehicle for hardened targets such as command and control bunkers, Submarine pens, Aircraft carriers, Deep underground bunkers and others. But no information about a nuclear payload has surfaced yet and remains speculation until proven otherwise.

The Russians have created a similar and active system in its arsenal the Avangard Glide Vehicle system which also boasts a Mach 20 speed as well as a 6000 KM range because it uses a ICBM launch platform.

The Chinese also have the DF-ZF family of gliding vehicle delivery system as well which reach the speed of Mach 10 with a 2000 KM range. The Chinese missile is geared toward hitting Aircraft carriers around their claimed territorial waters.

Interception of missiles of this type has yet to happen and proven. Until this very moment there is no active proven system that can intercept the system 100% of the time. The Russian S-500 System and the A-235 Nudol have been boasted to be capable of such interception but that remains within theory until proven otherwise.

The Chinese have also the HQ-19 and HQ-26 which are also an anti ballistic missile interception system but also that remains to be seen as well.

Laser interception has been floated to be a potential interception method but till we see proof on the ground every means of interception is theory.

The French are said to be working on a similar system called the V-MaX. The Indians as well working on a concept similar called the Shaurya Missile. The South Koreans are also working on Hycore – a hypersonic system as well but more on the Hypersonic Ballistic Missile end rather than a Hypersonic Gliding Missile.

The ARRW system is parts of the Air Force Global First Strike Capability which will greatly strengthen their position globally in the military, political and diplomacy spheres.
