What is Robotic Process Automation?

Let's start by understanding each of it's term -
Robotic - entity which mimic human action
Process - sequence of steps
Automation - task which happen automatically without human intervention

The process to mimic human actions to perform a meaningful task having sequence of steps without any human intervention is called Robotic Process Automation

Why Robotic Process Automation?

While doing a task in a repetitive manner manually everyday, an employee faces several issues such as it is time consuming, higher cost, error prone and many more.
There are several tasks in the tech industry which are being done by employees in a repetitive manner. And, they face a lot of issues while doing such task manually.

What is the solution?

Robotic Process Automation platform has provided the solution to such issues by developing a software robot capable of automating computer process

Reduces time - RPA reduces the time to complete a task since computers can work without taking any interval!
Cost effective - RPA reduces the cost by reducing the time to complete a task. It reduces the head count as well
More accurate results - If a human is doing any repetitive task, there are high chances of getting error. Where as, if a Computer is going to do that similar repetitive task using RPA, it will do the task without any mistake
Simple and intutive GUI - RPA tools like Automation Anywhere, Blue prism, UI path provides very simple GUI , which makes it easy to learn and implement
No coding skill required - For most of the cases, RPA tools provide their own inbuilt commands which are very user friendly and can be used by filling up some instructions inside the specified command box. So, not much programming skills are required. But, automating some high level tasks in requires programming skills like java, dot net
