Using the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI to Advance AI Governance around the World

The panel “Using the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI to Advance AI Governance around the World” was held on 21 February 2023 at the UNESCO Headquarters as a side event of the Internet for Trust Conference, with over 250 in-person and online participants in attendance.

Panelists discussed the current state of AI regulation, emphasizing the need for stronger AI governance guided by ethics. The UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI was highlighted as an anchoring, pivotal resource for policymakers and stakeholders by highlighting central ethical principles and bringing the conversation to a global level.
