The Age Of AI: How Will Brain Augmentation Affect Human Identity?
Consider your identity. Do you know yourself? Do you direct your own actions?
Most people value their own individualism. People like to think they have agency.
Although extensive research and progress is being made in the area of brain augmentation with artificial intelligence, it would seem we still have a long way to go before a viable implant is tested and can be used by humans to treat certain diseases. We will have to wait for the first proof of concept. But in the meantime, ethical considerations should be elicited and carefully discussed.
