What if your favorite artist was a computer? Could you detect the difference between a real musician and a synthetic one? Artificial Intelligence has recently gained a crucial role in our lives, influencing even music. Valerio Velardo, founder of “The Sound of AI”, a world wide community of researchers and experts on this field, is going to explore the topic of generative music starting from the origins and going to the future developments and risks. The small talk scenario uses a text chat bot. Its output utterances are transformed into an ironic multimodal version by applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Generation (NLG) for generating the irony factor. Additional multimodal markers are added. The resulting multimodal behavior is presented by the robot. The paper “Irony Man: Augmenting a Social Robot with the Ability to Use Irony in Multimodal Communication with Humans” was presented at AAMAS 2019 conference in Montreal, Canada: https://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3331678 More information about the lab: http://hcm-lab.de
