Julian Friedland, the tech philosopher, warns us about the potential for AI to reduce human agency in the modern world. He offers a number of solutions on how we can maintain ethical lifestyle choices in a world dominated by algorithms. Julian Friedland is Assistant Professor of Ethics in Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin. He is a Franco-American philosopher with a Ph.D. from the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne. His research and consulting lie in three interlinked areas: social impact strategy, leveraging moral self-awareness as an incentive, and new means by which the reflective mind may be activated through AI design architectures. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
