Singularity is scientist mumbo jumbo BS, can't even tell anymore the differences between scientist, science fiction author, cult leader.

jay scott says:

It takes one bad apple some programmer will program a race of evil robots

Bill the Builder says:

2045 I will be 84 years old. Hopefully the technology will exist to at least turn my functional age back to age 65 or 70.

Graveheart says:

He's so liberal and preachy. You can tell he's from Silicon Valley.

D A N I E L says:

Hopefully lol

B K says:

There will be a A.I. War before singularity. One needs to master one to lead

Сергей Волков says:

(No disrespect but please don't create another religion with that wishful thinking)

Optimus Phoenix Prime says:

I like that Guy Ben Goertzel

MyOther Soul says:

The problem is A.I. doesn't know. The big leap isn't a computational one, it's a definitional one. A.I. never defines what it's inputs mean and never defines what it outputs mean. Humans ALWAYS have to define those. Between the inputs and the outputs is some mathematics and supporting algorithms. A.I is very useful not it doesn't have purpose, it doesn't care or have motivation.

You can define some A.I. architecture as "deep learning" but that term applied to human understanding means something very different. In human terms deep learning or understanding means you have a grasp of the underlying principle, some sort of theoretical model. A.I. is composed of correlational models, statistical coincidences, not theory.

When will the singularity happen? Conveniently far enough in the future that the forecasters will don't have to worry about confronting their own failed predictions.

Cloud 9.1 says:

I can spot the consumers of animals from a mile away. They have that swollen and bloated, toxic look. Consuming abused animals is animal abuse. Consuming abused factory farm animals is done by animal abusers, in the same way that paying someone to murder is murder. 99% of the billions of consumed animals (and dairy and eggs) come from the factory farms, where abuse is built-in for the sake of efficiency. And we are supposedly becoming more compassionate because impossible whopper. Maybe consume fresh plant food? That would be novel. Dr Michael Greger will teach you.

Cloud 9.1 says:

Humans have always looked at the pond reflection or the mirror mirror on the wall, and have always seen nothing but absolute virtue, or at least a transcendence toward that. So when AGI becomes to humanity what humanity is now to the amoeba… why will that matter?

Cloud 9.1 says:

3:47 "… then by 2050, it's gonna be horrible. It would be like having a dictator with the values of 1950 America… " hmmmm… what do we have now?

robero alberto says:

we would be lucky if they keep us as pets, let's say we will have the mind of a dog compared to the mind of a human. we will not understand that level of intelligence.

Umar Kocer says:

Ray actually said 2029, but good interview!

Paul YEVEH says:

Sophia is a human representation of a digital way to deal with matter-with-ideas, that is to say algorithms.

Marcus Aurelius says:

Some how we have to teach it about DMT

Anthony C says:

How could you ever get to a human level AI?

It would need to replicate the intelligence of every cell in the body…
At least that’s what a famous multi-millionaire/billionaire (I forget his name) said.

Justice Moody says:

This is what happens when our intellectual evolution outpaces our spiritual evolution.

We end up with… ‘I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.’ — Oppenheimer

Osiris Wills says:

Dr. Okun from Independence LIVE!!! with Brian Rose!!!

elijah meza says:

Why is it always the layman the normal person raising the concern for such scary advancements?
