christian alan says:

quick question but I've done some other python youtube tutorials that use command prompt on windows instead of using an IDE. Is there any reason/advantage to using command prompt vs pycharm cause the IDE seems to work easier and better and I was having much difficulties with command prompt and the python playlist i was following that used it.

Michael Young says:

Hey Mosh. I've been following your tutorials so far and for the removing the duplicates from the list quiz. I figured a way to do it without crating a new list. Here is my solution in which I'll use your list to make it easier for others to follow:
numbers = [2, 2, 4, 6, 3, 4, 6, 1]
print(f"List with duplicates: {numbers}")
for number in numbers:
if numbers.count(number) > 1:
print(f"List with duplicates removed: {numbers}")
So in that solution instead of creating a new list I used the functions you showed us. First I printed the original list then in the for loop I checked the number of occurrences of a number and if it was greater than 1, I removed the duplicate occurrences. Then I printed the list with the duplicates removed at the end. Hopefully this comment helps any who reads it.
