The bipartisan National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act required the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to produce risk management guidance to help industry, academia, and government implement safe and trustworthy AI practices.

House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Frank Lucas made a statement thanking NIST for their work on this Risk Management Framework.
