This video describes information processing model by Atkinson and Shiffrin that explains how information moves from Sensory memory to Short-term memory to Long-term memory. To make this model more holistic, we have added other theories in the basic information processing model. The other supplemented researches include sensory memory (Echoic and iconic) by Spearling, magic number (7 plus minus 2) of short-term capacity by George Miller, chunking as a method to store more in STM, methods of rehearsal (maintenance and Elobrative rehearsal ) for transfer from STM to LTM and Craick and Tulving level of processing.
All these researches together explain the working of the Information processing model in a much better way.
