THE FUTURE IS HERE

In Focus: Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Supply Chain

There are many ways A.I. can mitigate supply chain risks and spot anomalies to trigger alerts that suggest taking a deeper look at what’s going on.

Join Linda Dunn, faculty director for the Master’s in Supply Chain Management at Georgetown SCS, along with Jackie Barbieri, the founder & CEO of Whitespace, as they discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on supply chains.

Prior to the alerting and risk spotting that takes place, it starts with discovery and mapping. It’s about first studying “normal” behaviors within a specific subset of a network in a supply chain. Then it’s about watching for risk and risk spotting.

An example of this is looking closely at sustainability and climate issues. There is a proposed SCC regulation that would require registrants to report on their greenhouse gas emissions. Mapping and discovery can help in understanding your organization’s footprint when it comes to climate change, which is important and increasingly so both in the United States and Europe.
