Every Covenant footsoldier in Halo is implanted with a neural lace which can be remotely monitored via covenant uplink terminals. The neural lace acts as a camera, and can be remote viewed by these computers by elite commanders. In this rare instance, Boss allows you early access to remote viewing, as you are meant to become a supersoldier implanted with this technology.
