THE FUTURE IS HERE

How Do Autonomous Systems "See"?

Autonomous systems need to be able to make decisions based on what they encounter in their environment. In this 90-Second Lecture, Dr. Vijayan Asari explains how autonomous systems see and process visual data to interpret a scene.

Researchers at the University of Dayton Vision Lab are developing technologies that allow autonomous systems to mimic the visual perception process in the human brain. The vision lab develops algorithms and architectures for real-time applications in the areas of signal processing, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, artificial neural networks and bio-mimetic object-vision recognition.
