As healthcare costs have continued to rise in the US, the system has also grown more complex and increasingly opaque. Drawing on my experience in machine learning engineering, I introduce Cascade Health’s Conversational AI Healthcare Assistant, a groundbreaking solution that empowers individuals to ask questions about medical prices, quality, coverage, and location. My talk explores recent government regulations that mandate hospitals and insurance companies to disclose their prices, offering hope for healthcare transparency. By leveraging large language models along with public and private healthcare data, we deliver data-driven answers in plain English to optimize decision-making in real-time and personalize the experience for anyone seeking or giving care.
