THE FUTURE IS HERE

From the Expert: Machine Learning and Artificial Neural Networks

Machine learning as an approach to artificial intelligence. Algorithms use supplied data to learn features of the data sets to provide usable answers about the inputs.

Artificial neural networks are one type of machine learning. They are modeled after neurons in the brain. Inputs are passed through artificial neurons, like signals transmitted in the brain.

Learning in the artificial neural networks takes the form of determining how information should be transmitted to neurons in the network and how much they influence one another. This influence is called a weight, and the algorithm learns from processing data how to adjust those weights.
