In 2016, Elon Musk founded Neuralink. That's a company that aims to directly install a computer in your brain with surgery. The idea is that one day, our thoughts will connect to the internet and we will be 10 times smarter.

But why do we need this today?

Let me introduce you to Graham. He suffers from a brain disease that is making him lose control over his muscles. It means that one day, he won't even be able to talk or walk. But in 2020, he had a device inserted through his blood vein, into his brain. And with this device, Graham can use his thoughts to send texts, shop online, and explore the internet.

But this device isn't actually Elon's Neuralink.

Elon expected to install a chip in a US patient in 2020. But it hasn't happened yet. Graham's device is from a rival company called Synchron. They've just become the first to install a brain-computer interface in a US patient.
