THE FUTURE IS HERE

Drone Research at Loughborough University Centre for Autonomous Systems

Are you interested in what robotics and artificial intelligence could do in tackling global challenges such as food security, environment protection, and ageing society? This video clip introduces the work at Loughborough University Centre for Autonomous Systems (LUCAS) in developing autonomous system technologies in applications such as monitoring crop health, minimising pesticide use in precision agriculture, intelligent wheelchairs, and solar panel inspection. Looking to the future, autonomous vehicles open up any number of possibilities. At the moment, we’re considering: can we build a robotic dog or insect that searches for food or sources of interest autonomously by following odours?

The facilities shown in the video support research activities and enhance student learning experience. For more information about our courses, please visit: https://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/aae/
