DARPA Robotic Autonomy in Complex Environments with Resiliency vehicle (RACER) has completed its first round of testing in off-road environments

The dune-buggy-like vehicle with no human driver is rolling across rugged desert terrain in California’s Mojave Desert.

RACER is essentially a UGV or Unmanned Ground Vehicle that is designed to operate without a human operator onboard.
It is equipped with several types of sensors like infrared cameras, and range sensing systems.
