ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS FOR SOLDIERS IN MULTI-DOMAIN OPERATIONS (FUTURE WAR)

Colonel Robert Carter III, M.P.H., Ph.D., FACSM is currently assigned to the United States at Army Futures Command Headquarters in Austin, Texas, and is serving as the Consultant for Physiology & Biochemistry to the Army Surgeon General. COL Carter received his PhD. in Biomedical Sciences (Human Physiology), Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Master’s Degree in Microbiology, and is a 2020 Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Army War College (Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies) and was awarded the AWC Foundation Award for Outstanding Strategy Research Paper, entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications for Soldiers in Multi-Domain Operations”.

COL Carter completed his postdoctoral education as Alonso Yerby Research Fellow at Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to that he served as the Army Product Manager (Battalion Command-Equivalent) for Medical Simulation at Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Director, Tactical Combat Casualty Research Program, United States Army
Institute for Surgical Research; White House Social Aide to the President of the United States; Operations Officer, Combined Joint Task Force Paladin, Kandahar, Afghanistan; Science Attache, Centre de Recherches du Service de Santé des Armées (CRSSA) in Grenoble, France; Deputy Director, Deputy for Medical Systems, Office of Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology), Pentagon. COL Carter was awarded the Order of Military Medical Merit, Combat Action Badge, Order of Saint Maurice (Legionnaire Award) and Life Member of the National Infantry Association, 9A Proficiency Designator by the Army Surgeon General in Biochemistry and various campaign medals. COL Carter has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters related to human performance optimization, combat casualty care, and military operational medicine.

COL Carter authored a book (Harper Collins Leadership) entitled, “The
Morning Mind: Use your Brain to Master Your Day and Supercharge Your Life”.
