Today, we take a look at the phenomenon of "Artificial Intelligence" as well as how "algorithms" are presented in the media. We look at how content producers like Sam Harris and his guests use "concern" about AI as a vector for increasing the reach of digital governance.
We continue our dive into the phenomenon of (Internet) subcultures through reading "The Melancholy of Subculture Society" (gwern.net). We'll tie this into a discussion of these "algorithm" things everyone is talking about and how slicing and dicing up the population into small groups of weirdos makes sense tactically for a party interested in "digital governance".
