AI – friend or foe? How machines could make us more human | Guto Harri | TEDxCardiffUniversity

Artificial Intelligence has mind-blowing implications for the way we live, work and play. Many fear its long-term consequences more than Brexit, and there’s little doubt it will destroy jobs and entire industries. But if we harness its potential properly could it not enable us to live longer, better and be more human? After completing a MA in Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff, Guto Harri spent 18 years at the BBC, before leaving his post as Chief Political Correspondent to become Director of External Affairs for Boris Johnson, then Mayor of London. He went on to work as Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs for NewsUK and Managing Director of External Communications at Liberty Global, one of the world’s largest media companies. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
