Speaker Bio
PETER MCATEER serves as Managing Director for SustainLearning LLC, a firm dedicated to developing more sustainable organizations. His focus is on sustainable strategy, business transformation and talent development. Peter is also a member of the editorial board for the Anthem Press Environment and Sustainability Initiative.
He previously served as Vice President of Organizational Development for Fidelity Investments, CEO of the Corporate University Xchange (now Udemy), member of the executive committee for Harvard Business School Publishing and Managing Director for its Corporate Learning business. He earlier roles included serving as Chief Learning Officer and head of the Global Knowledge Project for the United Nations Development Program.
Peter has served as adjunct faculty in human resource management at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and taught workshops at universities around the world including ESADE in Spain and the University of Southern California.
His published works have appeared in Directors and Boards, the ATD Journal, the Harvard Business Review, Stanford Social Innovation Review, the European Business Forum and Reuters Business Insights, among others. His most recent books are Sustainable Organization: The Quest for Ethical Brands and a Culture of Sustainable Innovation (2025), Pathways to Action: How Keystone Organizations and Leaders Are the Key to Solving Climate Change (2022) and Sustainability is the New Advantage, Leadership, Change and the Future of Business (2019, updated 2021).
