‘This is part of the journey’: Aussie rocket launch attempt ends in failure
Gilmour Space Technologies Chief Executive Adam Gilmour discusses his company’s first rocket launch attempt.
“This is part of the journey of rocket companies around the world, there’s never been a first flight attempt of any type of rocket of a new space company that’s ever gone to orbit,” Mr Gilmour told Sky News host Ross Greenwood.
“They normally either don’t even get off the pad, or they can go 10 seconds, SpaceX’s went 33 on their first launch attempt – so we’re right in the middle of the pack.
“We lost an engine in the first bit of the flight, and the guidance, navigation, and control system kept the rocket vertical.”
