THE FUTURE IS HERE

🫵 Politics are making you toxic #politics #churchofjesuschrist #mormon #lds

Are Democrats or Republicans more toxic? I used AI, Python, and NLP to find out.

In this video, I built a custom Python script to scrape thousands of Reddit posts and comments from both r/Conservative and r/Politics. Then, using machine learning and a fine-tuned AI toxicity model, I analyzed which subreddit uses more divisive, aggressive, or toxic language.

This isn’t just a political tech experiment, it’s a deeper look at the language we use and how it shapes our online world.

Inspired by President Russell M. Nelson’s General Conference message ā€œPeacemakers Neededā€, I also created a free web tool that helps you analyze your own political opinions and communication style. Using AI-powered sentiment and tone analysis, it gives personalized feedback on how to make your words more empathetic, respectful, and bridge-building.

🧠 Built with: Python, Reddit API, custom NLP models
šŸ“Š Topics: AI & politics, LDS General Conference, online toxicity, machine learning ethics

Whether you’re a Latter-day Saint trying to apply gospel principles in digital spaces, a data science nerd interested in natural language processing, or just someone who wants to be more intentional online, I think you’ll enjoy this video.

As pointed out by one of the comments, r/conservative usually only allows flaired users to post, while r/politics allows for more people to post.
