Fallout 4 – Live Action Opening

Colorized using DeOldify [AI Machine Learning] [IMPRESSIVE RESULTS]

DeOldify is an AI Neural Network software that is capable of colorizing black and white images using thousands of pictures as references.

I took the original video file from the Fallout 4 PC disk, and used DeOldify with the Video training model to restore the
color from the FMV.

This is my second attempt at colorizing this video, and the results are much more natural-looking and stable.

Great Angel says:

Dude this is so cool. Obviously the coloring isn't perfect, but it adds a whole new effect when you think about those "WW2 in color" videos. This looks remarkably similar to those, which adds a whole new level of cool when you think about how pre-War Fallout was culturally locked in the 1950s.

German Rudakov says:

The first 10 seconds of the vid already gave me chills

『ʙᴀʟᴍᴏʀᴀ ʙʟᴜᴇ』 says:

I wish we could use more nuclear power, there's just so much ignorance about it. Sadly things like Fallout increase the scandal and ignorance about it. Although I love the game

Zeoinx says:

Purple Armor is now cannon apparently…

Joseph Trevino says:

I think we are at 1:05 at this point.

ッElizabeth Kat says:

Still gives me chills. I await to hear this one day for fallout 5

Mr. Al says:

A shame this is how far the interest in Nate goes for me. I just find him too bland and unemotional in the game itself for my tastes. It's just my opinion/preference, I don't have anything "against" Brian T Delaney. Maybe he didn't get the proper voice directing, but I just feel that he was so much better in the intro than in the entire game itself. He clearly has the talent.
I always pick Nora, because I feel Courtenay Taylor simply makes such a better performance. That moment of motherly breakdown when she finds "Shaun" behind the glass at the Institute is just heart-wrenching, such amazing voice acting.

That and Nora/Courtenay both look and sound gorgeous.

Ryan Dunham says:

Eh, it’s alright. I personally don’t care for the amount of flickering in the cutscene, but I understand you can’t get it perfect. I don’t know the process for colorizing photos, but it doesn’t look like it fits with video. Still, you get an A for effort. 😉

Nol Berr says:

Bethesda should have just made it colorized to start with. Cool vid though.

AVUXS says:

That was soooo dope!!!
