Tesla boss and CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, named artificial intelligence (AI) as the biggest existential threat to humanity, while speaking to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) students on Friday.
Musk likened AI to an out of control "demon" from a horror movie, saying "you know all those stories where there's the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, and he's like yeah he's sure he can control the demon. Didn't work out."
Musk also discussed plans for his company SpaceX to create a human colony on Mars, stating his wish to make humans into a "multiplanetary species".
