Development of the Russian DARPA: humanoid robot FEDOR [footage of the testing of the robot]

Formerly known as "Avatar", the robot received a new name - FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research).

Development of the robot began in the framework of the project "Rescuer" in 2014.

The growth of the robot "FEDOR" is 184 cm, depending on the attached removable modules and additional equipment weight FEDOR is from 106 to 160 kg. Hand the robot can lift freight to 10 kg.

At the tests in November, 2016, the robot showed how it inserts the key into the keyhole, extinguishes the fire with a fire extinguisher, gets into the car, working with the hand saw, a soldering iron and the welding machine.

In the future FEDOR will be used not only on Earth, but also will go to space.

what`s it doing, dancing

TheDjKoul says:

want to see how it will drill through the stupid engineers…anyway Russia is always has to respond to the West's stupidity by doing same stupidity….like America has human-like robots, oh we are so behind again, let's catch up…why not start catching up by creating a device that destroys robot's code remotely …instead of wasting time and money for the walking dummies….

TheDjKoul says:

fuck robots…fuck push ups…fuck BD… nuke'em… humanity has not realized yet that antropomorphic machines are useless and dangerous…. no wonder how corrupt elites are obscessed namely with creation an antropomorhic human looking machines…..

Artistas do Brasil says:

For food, there is no money…

Chris G says:

This looks to be where Boston Dynamics was circa 2014, albeit with much less money like Nick Hunter said. Obviously though if we are seeing this, much in the same way as BD, it's likely a old prototype that has been surpassed.

statorworks 345 says:

Sweeeet. You know the real deal when there's no bent-knees cheating involved.
Love the go-pro shots too.

Paul Mangat says:

excellent job, but i have a question. why do the robots have to be built with same physical limitations as humans. why cant we not have them designed in such a way that they could perform more physical activities such as able to perform same tasks with their feet as hands or add a third arm and put vision in the middle. i guess many possibilities. just an idea

Shane Thompson says:

Now if they just had this do all the work for all humanity all we would have to do is be happy and healthy.

GhostDogg o says:

One of the archilles heels preventing robots from reaching their true potential is power since adding upgrades requires electricity and current tech batteries are still to slow to charge and do not hold much capacity for their weight.

But this is no problem for Russians though , their robots run on vodka which is the most abundant source of energy in Russia.

drevilatwork says:

putin run out of real people to hire as trolls so he purchased a 10 year old toy robot from japan.
